Founded in 2019, St.Louis Doula Project is lead by an interdisciplinary team of women of color. There are 200,000 women in US prisons. That’s 1/3 of the world’s incarcerated women and this number is growing faster than ever. About two in three of these Prison Birth Project is a student organization at the University of Michigan that aims to inspire students and community members to advocate for incarcerated mothers and birthing people.
